ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — An 18-year-old from Hastings died early Monday morning after a rear-end collision on State Road 207 in St. Johns County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The crash occurred at 1:58 a.m., as the teenager was driving south on State Road 207 near Deerpark Boulevard. The FHP report indicates the teen’s vehicle struck the back of a pickup truck driven by a 58-year-old man from Flagler Beach.
According to the report, the impact caused the teen to be “ejected through the windshield” of his sedan. Troopers also noted that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The sedan then overturned before coming to rest upright in the right turn lane of State Road 207, facing south.
The FHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
