Firecracker Incident Damages Luxury Vehicles in China
A recent incident in China has resulted in significant damage to several luxury vehicles after a young boy threw firecrackers into a sewer, causing an explosion.

The incident occurred in Zizhong county in Sichuan, southwestern China, on January 30. The boy, whose age has not been disclosed, threw lit firecrackers into a sewer located on a lawn.
The resulting explosion, caused by the ignition of methane gas within the sewer, damaged eight vehicles.

Among the damaged cars were models from Porsche, BMW, and Audi. Insurance companies estimate the total loss to be around 285,000 yuan (US$39,000).
Following the incident, the boy was apprehended by the police, alongside his parents, and taken in for questioning. The family is expected to bear the majority of the financial responsibility for the damage.
The boy’s grandmother made a tearful apology in a video posted online, blaming herself for the incident.
