A Hillsborough County sheriff’s deputy was fortunate to escape serious injury this week after their cruiser was involved in a collision that caused the vehicle to flip. The incident occurred shortly after 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday in Brandon, Florida, according to a social media post from the sheriff’s office that included video footage of the accident.
The video, captured by an intersection camera, shows the deputy’s cruiser with its lights and siren activated. A pickup truck then speeds into the intersection, colliding with the cruiser. The impact of the collision flips the cruiser before it rights itself back onto its wheels.
The deputy was transported to a local hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries. No other individuals were injured in the crash. At this time, it remains unclear if any citations were issued in relation to this incident.
