The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced on Monday it has opened an investigation into approximately 1.3 million Ford F-150 pickup trucks.
The probe is prompted by reports of an unexpected downshift in gear, which is sometimes accompanied by a temporary lock-up of the rear wheels.
