Ford’s website continues to promote the electric era, highlighting fully electric models such as the Mustang Mach-E and the F-150 Lightning pickup. However, the company’s electric vehicle division announced a substantial loss of $1.1 billion. This loss was partly attributed to ongoing industry-wide pricing pressures on first-generation electric vehicles. Conversely, Ford’s hybrid vehicle sales experienced significant growth. Sales of hybrid models, particularly the F-150 and Maverick pickups, increased by 34 percent in the second quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in the previous year.
