Ford’s Q2 2024 Sales Surge: Trucks, Hybrids, and EVs Lead the Way
Ford Motor Company is experiencing great success with its selection of vehicles in the U.S., as indicated by strong second-quarter sales in trucks, vans, hybrid, electric vehicles, and Lincoln models. The F-Series remains America’s top-selling truck, while the Maverick and Transit continue to post impressive numbers.
Ford is the leading truck manufacturer, with the F-Series continuing its reign as America’s top-selling truck. Through June, the F-Series outsold the second-place Silverado by 71,000 and the Ram by 173,000 trucks.

F-Series sales in Q2 totaled 199,463, which is up 30% from Q1. The Ford Transit, America’s best-selling van, posted a new first-half sales record.
Ford’s first-half sales for SUVs also hit an all-time high, surpassing the previous record set in 2017. Customers are also embracing Ford’s software and service offerings.

Ford’s total vehicle sales for the second quarter increased 1% compared to the same period last year. Truck sales, including pickups and vans, reached 308,920, a 5% increase compared to 2023, representing Ford’s highest Q2 truck sales since 2019.
The Ford Explorer, the Lincoln Aviator, Mustang Mach-E Rally, and extended-range E-Transit are all expected to launch soon, which will further increase Ford’s success.
Hybrid Sales Soar, Led by Maverick and F-150
Ford’s hybrid sales saw a 56% rise, reaching 53,822 vehicles sold, a new quarterly record. The Maverick, America’s best-selling hybrid pickup, led the way with 40,420 units sold in the first half of the year.
Many customers are switching from other brands to the Maverick. Roughly 60% of Maverick Hybrid buyers come from other brands, and many people trade in their small SUVs and compact cars for the reasonably priced midsize Maverick.
The F-150 Hybrid is the second best-selling hybrid pickup. Sales of the new 2024 F-150 Hybrid model started in the second quarter leading to a 38% increase in sales.

Electric Vehicle Sales Continue to Climb
Electric vehicle sales jumped up 61% in the second quarter, with 23,957 units sold, and are up 72% for the year. Ford is the second-biggest seller of electric vehicles, after Tesla, with 44,180 EVs sold in the first half of the year.
The Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning are attracting customers from other brands. The Mustang Mach-E sales increased by 46% year-over-year and are up 58% through the first half of the year.

Ford’s E-Transit maintained its position as the best-selling electric van in America. Sales for the E-Transit increased by 96% in Q2. Most E-Transit sales this year come from repeat customers, who are seeing the benefits of reduced maintenance and fuel costs with an electric vehicle.
Transit Dominates, Ford Pro Intelligence Gains Subscribers
Ford has dominated the commercial van sector for 45 consecutive years. The Transit continues to perform well. Ford Transit and E-Series combined accounted for half of the full-size commercial van market in Q2.
Transit sales reached 82,164 vans between January and June, an increase of 28%. The F-Series Super Duty sales continue to grow with first half sales up 8 percent.
The Ford Pro Intelligence software platform now boasts roughly 600,000 subscribers, an increase of approximately 33% since last year and 7% when compared to Q1.
SUV Sales and Lincoln’s Success

Nautilus sales were the highest, with 8,273 SUVs sold. The Nautilus hybrid represented 44% of all Nautilus sales in Q2. Corsair sales were up 17% in Q2, while Aviator sales were up 90%.
