Four people were hospitalized after an Apopka Fire Department ambulance collided with a pickup truck in Orange County on Wednesday morning. The crash occurred around 6 a.m. at the intersection of Orange Blossom Trail and State Road 414. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the ambulance was traveling southbound on Orange Blossom Trail with its emergency lights and sirens activated when it struck the Ford truck, which was exiting from the westbound SR-414 ramp. The collision caused the truck to overturn and hit a third vehicle. Several lanes at the intersection were blocked, but one lane remained open for southbound traffic on Orange Blossom Trail. Drivers were advised to expect congestion in the area.
The severity of the injuries sustained by the four hospitalized individuals is currently unknown. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the truck driver continued through the intersection on a green light, resulting in the collision. The incident is under investigation, and authorities are working to clear the scene and restore normal traffic flow.
