Toyota is expanding its electric vehicle lineup with a new electric pickup truck slated for launch in Europe by 2026.
At the company’s annual product strategy event held recently in Brussels, Toyota revealed that it will introduce six new battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in Europe by the end of next year. The luxury brand Lexus will also add three new EVs to its lineup during the same period.
In addition to sharing information about the upgraded Toyota bZ4X, which is expected to arrive in late 2025 as a 2026 model, Toyota also highlighted the upcoming C-HR+ and the Urban Cruiser. While the details surrounding the remaining vehicles are still under wraps, the company did offer a glimpse of their silhouettes.
Among the shadowed figures, two SUVs were visible, and the third vehicle was identified by the company as the anticipated electric pickup truck.

There has been some speculation about the design of the new pickup, with some expecting a vehicle similar to the Tacoma. Back in December 2021, the company announced 16 electric concepts that included a Tacoma-like pickup.

More recently, Toyota unveiled the EPU (Electric Pick-up) concept at the Japan Mobility Show in October 2023. The compact-sized truck is a likely competitor to the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz. The EPU concept features a unibody construction, a four-door crew cab, and a wheelbase of 3,350 mm. The interior was one of the more detailed aspects of the concept, signaling a clear intention for production.

While the final design direction is still uncertain, the electric pickup could prove appealing to customers in North America, which would require the truck to be built in the United States to avoid import tariffs.
