Geely Prepares to Launch Electric Vans in Australia
Farizon, the commercial vehicle arm of Chinese automotive giant Geely, has revealed further details about its upcoming electric van models destined for the Australian market later this year. The SuperVan cargo hauler, also known as the SV, will spearhead the brand’s launch in Australia, alongside H9E trucks.

While the vans are scheduled to make their public debut next weekend in Sydney, the official Farizon launch will take place the following month in Melbourne. Initially, Farizon obtained approval for three different wheelbase sizes for its SuperVan range, but has narrowed down the launch lineup to include three specific electric vans.
The Australian market will have one short-wheelbase (SWB) and two long-wheelbase (LWB) SuperVan models. These will offer low-roof (SWB and LWB) and high-roof (LWB only) configurations.
SuperVan Dimensions and Specifications
The vans are expected to have the following dimensions, based on information from the company and approval documents filed with the Australian government:
- Short Wheelbase (SWB): Dimensions not provided
- Long Wheelbase (LWB): Dimensions not provided
Each van will be equipped with an 83kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, which supplies power to a 170kW electric motor generating 336Nm of torque and driving the front wheels. Although comprehensive details are still forthcoming, the low-roof SuperVan is purported to have a driving range of 376km based on the WLTP test cycle.

Luxury Features and Market Competition
The SuperVan is also the first electric van in Australia to possess vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, which enables owners to power tools using the onboard battery. The van will also include “30 different safety features”, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, a surround-view camera, 270-degree barn doors, and heated and ventilated seats.
While heated seats are becoming more mainstream in vans, ventilated seats are unusual for a commercial vehicle. The SuperVan will be available with or without windows on its sliding side doors. All models of the electric van will come standard with 16-inch wheels.

Though pricing has yet to be finalized, due to the SuperVan’s dimensions being similar to the LDV eDeliver 7 – which is available in short- and long-wheelbase versions with comparable battery capacities – it’s plausible that Farizon will price its electric van in the $60,000 to $70,000 price range.
The mid-sized electric van market in Australia currently includes the eDeliver 7, Peugeot E-Expert, Mercedes-Benz eVito, and Volkswagen ID.Buzz Cargo. Ford is expected to launch the E-Transit Custom this year, adding another competitor for electric van buyers in Australia.
