A tragic accident occurred in Gulf County, Florida, on Tuesday afternoon when a pickup truck driven by a local woman collided head-on with a bucket line truck on State Road 71. The crash resulted in the woman’s death and injured two men working in the bucket truck.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the pickup truck was traveling northbound on State Road 71 when it veered off the road and crashed into the bucket line truck, which was parked on the east shoulder with its boom extended. Two workers, a man from Cairo, Georgia, and another from Crawfordville, Florida, were secured in the bucket at the time of the collision.
The impact threw both workers out of the bucket. The Gulf County woman driving the pickup truck died at the scene. The Cairo man suffered minor injuries, while the Crawfordville man sustained serious injuries. Both injured men were hospitalized for treatment.
The FHP press release provided details of the accident, confirming that the bucket truck had been working on the shoulder of the roadway when the collision occurred. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
