BOURNE, Mass. — Authorities in Bourne are investigating a truck fire that occurred early Saturday morning on Crows Nest Drive after receiving multiple 911 calls.
The Bourne Police Department reported that the calls came in shortly after 2:30 a.m., prompting an immediate response from both police and the Bourne Fire Department.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a pickup truck engulfed in flames parked off the roadway. Using fire extinguishers from their cruisers, the officers were able to quickly suppress the fire.
The interior of the truck sustained significant damage, though no other property in the vicinity was affected, according to officials.
Due to the circumstances of the fire, the Massachusetts State Police Fire Marshals were called to the scene to conduct an investigation. The investigation remains active, with support from Bourne police officers and firefighters.
