The Isuzu Traviz, currently available in five body styles – cab and chassis, UV, aluminum van, dropside pickup, and refrigerated van – might soon be joined by another variant. At the 2025 Isuzu Truck Fest, the company showcased a Cargo Van concept, generating some buzz with its Versa Van-like design.

The concept is, as the name suggests, a van conversion built on the Traviz chassis. Despite being labeled a cargo van, it features ample space for passengers, including four rows of seats. The first two rows offer three-abreast seating, while the rear rows have flip-down seats, accommodating two or three occupants. This layout will likely resonate with older drivers who remember the L300 vans of yesteryear.

The rear seats are permanently fixed, maximizing the available space. The design also incorporates space beneath the seats for additional storage. Comfort is addressed with a blower for rear passengers, a welcome feature.

Stylistically, the concept blends elements of the Traviz with other vans and previous-generation Isuzu D-Max models. The front end is unmistakably Traviz, while the side profile evokes high-roof versions of older vans like the Hiace Super Grandia and Nissan NV350. The taillights appear to be sourced from the old D-Max.
Under the hood, the Cargo Van concept likely uses the same engine as the rest of the Traviz range: a 2.5-liter turbodiesel producing 77hp and 177Nm of torque. Considering the absence of an automatic transmission option for the Traviz, this concept is likely equipped with a five-speed manual transmission.
For now, the Isuzu Traviz Van remains a concept. However, if the public shows enough enthusiasm, the company may consider putting it into production, potentially reviving the spirit of the Versa Van. The success of this new model will depend on the final pricing.
