Jacksonville Man Dies After Scooter Collides with Truck in Clay County
A 35-year-old Jacksonville man was killed Thursday morning after the scooter he was riding was hit by a work truck in Clay County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The accident occurred around 6:06 a.m. on County Road 209/US-17. The FHP reported that the man was traveling northbound on his scooter when the white Dodge Ram work truck, heading south, turned left in front of him, causing a collision.
The scooter rider was taken to Orange Park Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries, the FHP stated in a news release. The crash is still under investigation.
