Jaguar’s Controversial EV Takes Center Stage in Paris
Jaguar’s polarizing Type 00 EV concept has made its first official public appearance in Paris, drawing both admiration and skepticism.
The two-door vehicle, which initially debuted late last year, has continued to spark discussion. Comparisons to everything from the Pink Panther to Barbie’s dream car have been made, and even figures like Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk and EV startup Lucid Motors have weighed in with commentary. However, despite the mixed reactions, Jaguar seems to be thriving in the spotlight.

The car “previews what’s to come from Jaguar,” as the company looks to revitalize the British sports car brand for the electric vehicle era, according to the report.
During an interview with The Sunday Times in December, CEO Adrian Mardell noted that the new lineup will likely be priced around £150,000, or nearly $200,000. The publication went on to note that the model series will begin with a luxury four-door GT version.

In a recent interview, Jaguar’s managing director, Rawdon Glover, said that the new EV is “right in the midst” of road testing, as the company moves toward its launch. Glover shared that the company is about to enter “a very different phase” to bring the technology to life.
The company is also targeting a range of approximately 430 miles for the most efficient variant. Jaguar plans to unveil the electric four-door GT later this year, with production scheduled to commence in mid-2026.

It will be followed by at least two more luxury EVs, expected to be a sedan and an SUV.
