Cincinnati Bengals wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are making waves once again, this time for their extravagant new vehicles. The dynamic duo recently inked lucrative contracts totaling $273 million combined and were subsequently spotted cruising through Miami in high-end supercars, sparking a range of reactions from the NFL fanbase.
Chase, now the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league, was seen behind the wheel of a pristine white Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, a rare model with a market value of around $750,000. Higgins, the league’s highest-paid WR2, opted for a McLaren 765LT Spider, a high-performance machine priced at approximately $550,000. Videos of the pair enjoying their new cars quickly surfaced on social media, generating a mixture of praise and criticism from fans.
While many viewers lauded the Bengals stars for celebrating their financial triumphs, others perceived the display as excessive. Some critics voiced their concerns, questioning the wisdom of flaunting wealth before securing a championship. They pointed out that neither receiver has yet won a Super Bowl. One commenter wrote, “Ugly car. He gonna need them slips in about 4-5 years anyhow. 80% are broke within 4 years of retirement.” Another remarked, “What did you expect? You think these two had plans to do anything for the greater good of society?”

Despite the backlash, there was no evidence to suggest the Bengals wideouts engaged in any reckless behavior. Although they did accelerate at times, they appeared to be part of a controlled convoy, following a white Lamborghini Huracán.
Nevertheless, Chase and Higgins also demonstrated that their newfound wealth and fame hadn’t changed them. During their Miami outing, they made a young Bengals fan’s day when he approached them at a gas station. The players happily greeted the child, posed for pictures, and interacted with his mother. Higgins, in particular, seemed to be genuinely enjoying his initial ride in such a high-performance vehicle, his enthusiasm visible in the video clips. Chase, on the other hand, had a lady riding alongside him throughout the drive.
The moment resonated with fans who saw it as proof that, despite their newfound wealth and extravagant purchases, Chase and Higgins remain grounded. Their impact on the football fan base is still growing stronger, which was supported by the kid, who, despite being from a state with three NFL teams, was happy to meet the Bengals stars.
While NFL players are fully entitled to revel in their earnings with lavish purchases, these will always draw scrutiny. Some fans want athletes to maintain their humility, while others have no issue with them enjoying the rewards of their hard work.
