KG Mobility Partners with PT Pindad for Indonesian Automotive Project
KG Mobility Corp., a South Korean automaker, has signed a heads of agreement (HOA) with Indonesia’s state-run defense company PT Pindad to collaborate on a national car and electric bus project. The agreement was signed at PT Pindad’s headquarters in Bandung, Indonesia, attended by KG Mobility Chairman Kwak Jea-sun and PT Pindad’s CEO Sigit Santosa.
Under the partnership, KG Mobility will support PT Pindad with vehicle product evaluation, technology, and engineering. The collaboration aims to expand PT Pindad’s ongoing national car and electric bus production project in Indonesia to a capacity of 200,000 units. Last year, KG Mobility exported 1,060 knock-down kits for its Rexton sport utility vehicle (SUV) to Indonesia and plans to increase shipments to 3,000 units this year.

KG Mobility views this partnership as part of its strategy to expand into emerging markets. “As Southeast Asia’s largest automotive market, Indonesia holds significant growth potential, and we will make every effort to expand sales through our differentiated product competitiveness and marketing strategies,” said Kwak Jea-sun, Chairman of KG Mobility.
The partnership between KG Mobility and PT Pindad represents a significant step in Indonesia’s national car and electric bus production project, leveraging KG Mobility’s automotive expertise and PT Pindad’s local market presence.
