The Kia PV5: Innovation on Wheels
Kia is entering the electric van market with a model that blends form and function: the PV5. Previewed as a concept, the mid-size PV5 is the first production model built on Kia’s all-electric PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle) architecture. This marks a significant step in the evolution of commercial and passenger vehicles.

Design and Aesthetics
The PV5’s design, nearly identical to the concept, hints at the future of automotive styling. Kia describes the PV5 as a vehicle that looks years ahead of its time, transcending the typical commercial van aesthetic. Its distinctive front features a blunt nose, a blacked-out upper panel, and zig-zagging running lights, leading to a unique visual identity.

Key design elements include a low beltline, which provides an airy feel, and side windows that stretch down into the doors. The upward kink at the B-pillar offers a nod to the Telluride. Angular wheel arches add a modern touch.
Commercial Versatility
The PV5 is also available as a commercial cargo van. While it doesn’t have the wraparound black windows, it retains a striking look. The cargo version features side-hinged barn doors instead of a swing-up tailgate, enhancing its functionality for commercial use. The return of the three-spoke wheels is a stylish choice, adding to its appeal.

Modular Design and Future Variants
The original concept was 182.9 inches long with a 117.9-inch wheelbase. Inside, the PV5 is expected to have a low, flat load floor, adaptable seating configurations and modular storage solutions. Kia plans to show a full reveal at the EV Day event in Spain on February 24. The lineup is expected to include various configurations and conversion options including high roofs and chassis-cab pickup versions.

Kia’s PV5 seems poised to reshape the electric van market with a blend of cutting-edge design, modular functionality, and an eye toward the future of transportation.
