Kia Tasman Goes Bush-Ready Thanks to Off-Road Outfitter

The Kia Tasman, the Korean automaker’s first production ladder-frame pickup truck, is generating significant buzz even before its official release. To enhance its rugged appeal, Australian 4×4 accessory powerhouse ARB has previewed a comprehensive lineup of Tasman-specific accessories, showcasing the truck’s off-road potential.

ARB’s teaser catalog includes a wide range of upgrades, such as:

    • Hooped and hoopless bull bars
    • Bash plates
    • Side rails
    • Roof racks
    • Bed systems
    • Suspected lift kit

These accessories are designed to enhance the Tasman’s off-road capabilities, addressing concerns about its front fascia design. ARB has shown various ways to modify the polarizing grille without modifying any body panels, including different fog light configurations.

It’s important to note that these renderings are not final products but rather indications of ARB’s development pipeline for the Tasman. The Australian company, which has a growing presence in the US market, is preparing for the Tasman’s global launch.

The Kia Tasman is set to compete with other global pickup truck nameplates like the Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, Isuzu D-Max, and Mitsubishi Triton. While it will first launch in Australia in dual-cab configuration with both 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrains across five trim levels, Kia plans to expand its availability to other key markets.

However, the Tasman won’t be coming to the US market. Instead, Kia is developing a separate truck for American buyers, designed to rival models like the Toyota Tacoma and Ford Ranger. This US-bound truck is expected to have robust towing capabilities and off-roading features, with Kia aiming to sell 90,000 units annually and capture 7% of the market.
