Future Plans and Variants
Kia has already spotted testing a new ‘Conversion’ model, hinting at its imminent release. This new variant will be offered in five configurations: open bed, top car, prime, light camper, and camper van. The company has also revealed two ‘Spielraum’ PV5 concepts, one featuring a refrigerator, microwave oven, and wine cellar. The production version is slated for release in the second half of 2026, in partnership with LG Electronics.

Kia’s Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) business aims to launch several electric van models in the coming years. Following the PV5, the company plans to introduce the larger PV7 in 2027 and PV9 in 2029. In the first full year of PBV sales, Kia expects to sell between 3,000 to 4,000 electric vans, with ambitions to reach around 17,000 PBVs annually by 2030.
The PV5 is manufactured at Kia’s Hwaseong EVO plant in South Korea, which has a production capacity of up to 150,000 units per year. With its innovative design and varied configurations, the Kia PV5 is poised to make a significant impact in the electric van market.
