Kia’s Strategic Manufacturing in Georgia Enables Price Reduction for EV9 SUV
Kia has managed to lower prices on certain trims of its highly acclaimed battery-electric EV9 SUV for the 2026 model year. This move is particularly noteworthy given the current trade negotiation landscape. The EV9, a three-row electric vehicle, has received widespread praise from automotive reviewers and owners alike. Publications such as Inside EVs have lauded the vehicle, with one review titled ‘Kia EV9 – Truly Fantastic.’
Pricing Adjustments for 2026
The pricing changes for the Kia EV9 are as follows:
- The base trim remains unchanged in price
- The Light SR trim has seen a price increase
- The top trim is now $2,000 lower
- Other trims have varying changes, with some experiencing price reductions

In addition to the price adjustments, Kia is offering the EV9 Nightfall Edition package as a no-cost option for both 6-passenger and 7-passenger configurations. Other enhancements include design and performance upgrades for the Nightfall Edition on Land.
Strategic Manufacturing Decision
Kia’s ability to maintain competitive pricing is attributed to its decision to manufacture the EV9 in Georgia, USA. This strategic move helps mitigate the impact of tariffs and trade negotiations on the vehicle’s pricing. As SeungKyu (Sean) Yoon, President and CEO for Kia North America, previously stated, ‘The launch of the Kia EV9 in Georgia is the latest example of Kia’s commitment to the U.S. market.’
The Kia EV9 is produced at Kia Georgia, a plant located on 2,200 acres in West Point, Georgia. The facility has an annual capacity of 350,000 vehicles and also produces other popular Kia models such as the Telluride and Sorento SUVs.

Kia’s strategic manufacturing decisions and commitment to the U.S. market have enabled the company to navigate trade uncertainties while offering competitive pricing on its electric vehicles. The EV9’s success is a testament to Kia’s forward-thinking approach to the automotive market.
