Lexus Named Most Reliable Car Brand in the UK
According to the 2025 Honest John Satisfaction Index, Lexus has been crowned the most reliable car brand in the UK market, achieving an impressive score of 97.01 percent. The leading Japanese luxury brand was commended for its efficiency, practicality, safety, performance, and comfort. While Lexus may not be among the highest-selling brands, the survey clearly shows drivers have a high level of satisfaction with the performance and reliability of their vehicles.

Lexus’s NX model was also the most reliable car overall, ahead of the Skoda Karoq and Toyota Corolla.
Currently, Lexus offers seven models, including the LBX, UX, NX, RZ, RX, ES, and LM. These models span hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and battery electric powertrains. Data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) indicates that Lexus has sold 1,660 vehicles so far this year, representing a 0.74 percent market share. This denotes a substantial 50 percent surge in new vehicle registrations compared to the previous year, when just over 1,100 vehicles were sold by the end of February.
Tesla Takes Second Place
Elon Musk’s Tesla secured second place with an impressive score of 95.29 percent. Tesla’s electric vehicles are some of the most popular in the world. Despite criticism, Tesla models remain some of the best-selling electric vehicles in the UK. Drivers appreciate the impressive battery ranges, exceeding 300 miles, convenient Supercharging locations, and integrated in-car technology.
Toyota and Honda in Top Four
Following Lexus and Tesla, Japanese brands Toyota and Honda secured third and fourth places, respectively. These vehicles have a long-standing reputation for exceptional reliability, low breakdown rates, and economical repair costs.
The top five brands based on the Reliability Rating include:
- Lexus – 97.01 percent
- Tesla – 95.29 percent
- Toyota – 94.65 percent
- Honda – 94.31 percent
- Skoda – 93.08 percent
