LUBBOCK, TX – The Lubbock Police Department is investigating a crash that occurred Saturday afternoon in Central Lubbock, leaving a bicyclist with serious injuries. According to a press release issued by the department, officers were dispatched to the intersection of 50th Street and Wayne Avenue on March 1st at 4:49 p.m. Preliminary investigations indicate that James Brock, 25, was driving a pickup truck eastbound on 50th Street. Dennis Whaley, 69, was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk when he moved left onto the roadway. Whaley then collided with the right side of Brock’s truck.
