Maextro, the luxury automotive brand created by Huawei and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC), has unveiled interior images of its highly anticipated S800 sedan. The launch is expected in May, positioning the vehicle in the RMB 1 million ($137,070) luxury sedan market.
Vehicle Features
The Maextro S800 boasts a luxurious interior featuring three connected screens at the front. The images shared on Weibo show a four-seater configuration with a roof that includes a star effect. The vehicle is currently on display at the Huawei HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) booth at the 2025 Shanghai auto show, although the interior was not accessible for viewing during the event.
Technical Specifications
The S800 will be available in both extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants. Both versions share the same dimensions: 5,480 mm in length, 2,000 mm in width, and 1,536 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,370 mm. They will be offered in both 4-seat and 5-seat configurations.
Powertrain Details
- The EREV variant features an 800V high-voltage battery pack with a 65 kWh capacity, supporting 6C fast charging. It can charge from 10% to 80% in just 10.5 minutes.
- The BEV variant comes with a 5C pack, capable of charging from 10% to 80% in 12 minutes.
Background
Maextro is the fourth brand launched under Huawei’s HIMA initiative and represents the highest positioning within this umbrella. Richard Yu, Huawei’s managing director, announced on February 20 that the Maextro S800 would officially launch at the end of May. The pricing is expected to be between RMB 1 million and RMB 1.5 million.
