Make-A-Wish Makes Young Cancer Patient’s Car Dreams Come True
CORAL GABLES, FLA. – For 12-year-old Luka Bojanic, battling cancer meant enduring surgeries and chemotherapy. But thanks to Make-A-Wish Southern Florida, his challenging journey took a remarkable turn: the chance to experience some of the rarest and most extraordinary cars on Earth.
Having traveled from Las Vegas to South Florida, Bojanic had the opportunity to immerse himself in the ModaMiami event in Coral Gables on a recent Sunday. The event provided the young car enthusiast a memorable opportunity to sit in and admire an array of luxury vehicles.
“That was like probably a dream, that I think it wouldn’t come true, but it really did,” Bojanic said of his experience. Battling cancer for years, he expressed his surprise and deep appreciation for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
With an undeniable passion for automobiles, Bojanic’s wish was to see these real-deal cars. Make-A-Wish made his dream a reality, bringing him to the heart of the action.
“I’m seeing a lot of my dream cars, and one of the best cars, and the best event in the U.S., one of the best,” Bojanic shared, reflecting on the collection before him. His special day was further enriched by the presence of Dennis Crowley, a rare car collector who enjoyed sharing his expertise and knowledge.
For Crowley, this was an incredibly rewarding experience. “For me, it’s always been – cars have always been a part of my life, especially super cars,” he recounted. “I’ve been super blessed, I have a very, very nice collection of some rare cars, super cars, and it’s really nice to be able to share that with these kids and see their passion, their knowledge.”
Treated to VIP treatment, Bojanic was even able to step inside some of the hot rods. As he celebrates remission, he expressed profound gratitude:
“I thought about it, and I wasn’t gonna believe it was gonna come true, but I feel really amazing that it did,” he said.
Supporting Bojanic on this special day was his best friend, Greyson, who also got to enjoy the remarkable showcase.
