Miami-Dade Man Arrested for Fleeing Crash Involving Pregnant Woman
A 47-year-old Miami man was arrested Sunday after fleeing the scene of a car crash involving a pregnant woman and her husband, according to Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Northeast 82nd Street and North Miami Avenue. Deputies found the pregnant victim in the intersection near her disabled vehicle. She told authorities that she had been involved in a collision and the other driver fled the scene.
The victim’s husband jumped into the back of the other vehicle – a pickup truck – as it was fleeing. A witness confirmed seeing the pickup truck leave the scene without stopping to exchange information with the victims.
The pregnant woman complained of back and stomach pain and was treated at the scene by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel before being transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
The suspect, identified as Robenson Beaubrun, eventually returned to the scene with the victim’s husband still in the back of his pickup truck. The husband told deputies that Beaubrun had driven erratically on Interstate 95, attempting to get him to fall out of the vehicle.
Beaubrun was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving serious bodily injury. As of Monday morning, he was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $10,000 bond.
