A 59-year-old man from Crescent City was killed Wednesday night after being struck by a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer on US 301 in Nassau County, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release. The incident occurred at approximately 9:36 p.m. near Ford Road.
Authorities stated the man was walking in the inside lane of US 301 when he was first hit by a pickup truck. The pickup truck was driven by a 43-year-old man from Tallahassee. Following that collision, the pedestrian was then struck by a tractor-trailer, driven by a 68-year-old man from Bristol, Tennessee.
The FHP news release also indicated that the victim had been involved in a single-vehicle accident on Ford Road prior to the fatal incident.
