Man Killed, Wife Critically Injured After Pickup Truck Collision in Middletown
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio – A husband is dead and his wife is in critical condition after being struck by a pickup truck early Friday morning in Middletown. The incident occurred near the intersection of Lafayette Avenue and Baltimore Street.
Police responded to the scene around 6:45 a.m. Upon arrival, authorities found the couple and immediately transported them to Atrium Medical Center. The husband was pronounced dead at the hospital, while his wife remains in critical condition.
Family members, speaking with WLWT, confirmed the victims were a husband and wife. The family is devastated by the loss and is asking for prayers for the injured woman.
“He was a good guy. He’d give you the shirt off his back. Help! Anybody that he could. Never bothered anybody,” said Deborah Trent, the victim’s aunt. Trent described her nephew as hardworking, a dedicated husband, and a family man.
The Middletown Division of Police requested assistance from the Butler County Severe Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team (START), and the crash investigation is ongoing. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims. Questions remain about the circumstances of the crash, including whether the driver remained at the scene.
