According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the tractor-trailer was traveling south on Highway 87 when a pickup truck heading east on Sandy Hill Road attempted to turn left onto Highway 87. Notably, both vehicles had red lights at the time of the incident.
The tractor-trailer collided with the driver’s side of the pickup truck, resulting in serious injuries to the pickup’s driver. Fortunately, the tractor-trailer driver and the turkeys it was carrying were unharmed. As of Thursday morning, charges were still pending in connection with the crash.
