KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) — A 34-year-old man who allegedly shot at three Amazon delivery vans and caused a head-on collision while driving the wrong way on N.C. 11 has been transferred from the ECU Medical Center to Lenoir County Jail. Lonneil Cordarius Mason was charged with multiple counts, including attempted first-degree murder, shooting into occupied property, and possession of a firearm by a felon. After appearing before a district court judge, Mason was held without bond due to the violent nature of the charges. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, Mar. 27, 2025, resulted in injuries to two women who are being treated at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville. Their current conditions are unknown. Mason was initially held at the ECU Medical Center in critical condition before being released to the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office custody.
