Mercedes-AMG Gears Up for All-Electric Supercar
Mercedes-AMG is poised to make a significant statement in the electric vehicle landscape with the upcoming launch of an all-electric supercar. This high-performance model will serve as a technological vanguard, showcasing the brand’s future electric powertrain technology.

Inspired by the striking Vision One-Eleven concept unveiled in 2023, the new supercar will introduce a cutting-edge electric powertrain. This powertrain is destined for future AMG models, including all-electric sedans and SUVs expected to arrive by 2027.
High Performance and Cutting-Edge Technology
According to an internal source, the supercar is expected to be “the fastest-accelerating AMG vehicle ever produced.” This remarkable acceleration capability will be made possible by an axial-flow electric motor developed by Yasa, a British company acquired by Mercedes in 2021. Furthermore, the concept could incorporate a new generation of battery technology, potentially solid-state, drawing on innovations from the High Performance Powertrain department, which is responsible for Mercedes-AMG’s Formula 1 hybrid powertrains.

Electrified Future Underway
This supercar concept marks the beginning of a comprehensive electrification program for AMG. The brand plans to launch its first dedicated electric model, a sports sedan, in 2026, followed by an electric SUV in 2027. These models will be built upon the new AMG.EA platform, designed specifically for high-performance electric vehicles.
Concurrently, Mercedes is changing its electric vehicle strategy. The EQ designation will be phased out, and future electric models will be integrated into the broader Mercedes-Benz lineup. This means that vehicles will be available in combustion, hybrid, and electric versions, all under the single Mercedes-Benz brand.
Confirmed future electric models include:
- GLC electric: Scheduled for 2025, with an AMG version in development.
- C-Class electric and E-Class electric: Expected at a later date.
- New GLB: Offered in combustion, hybrid, and electric versions, replacing the EQB.

Broader Strategy and Model Updates
By 2026, Mercedes-Benz intends to unveil a redesigned S-Class, featuring a new digital interface and advanced Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities. The EQS will undergo a significant redesign, adopting the S-Class name even though it is built on a separate platform.
Additional upcoming models include:
- Restyling of the GLE and GLS thermal SUVs to extend their lifecycle to 2030.
- Updates to the EQS SUV, EQE sedan, and EQE SUV.
- Presentation of the “Baby G-Class” in 2026, with a launch scheduled for 2027, alongside the redesigned GLB.
