Mercedes-Benz has revealed its next generation of electric vehicles with the debut of the latest CLA-Class sedan. The all-electric four-door model showcases the German luxury marque’s advancements in battery-powered vehicles.

The CLA-Class previewed in concept form in 2023, marks the first vehicle built on the new Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA) platform. This technology is designed to be compatible with multiple powertrain types and will underpin several future models, including the next-generation GLA and GLB SUVs.
Performance and Range
The new platform allows for the CLA to be one of Mercedes’ most advanced EVs yet. Two versions will be available at launch: the 250+ and the 350 4Matic. The 250+ offers a single-motor, rear-wheel-drive setup with 268 hp and 247 ft lbs of torque, while the 350 4Matic features a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup generating 349 hp and 380 ft lbs of torque. Both models include a two-speed transmission designed to improve efficiency.
Despite the competitive acceleration, the CLA truly shines in range. The 250+ boasts an estimated range of 492 miles on a single charge, with the 350 4Matic offering 479 miles based on the WLTP testing cycle. EPA estimates should still place both well over 400 miles.
The MMA platform leverages an 800-volt technology, enabling DC fast charging at speeds up to 320 kW. This could potentially add up to 200 miles of range with a just a ten-minute charging session.
Interior and Design

Inside the new CLA
The CLA’s design is as impressive as its performance statistics. The production model mirrors the concept version. The four-door sedan features a sleek but aggressive look that sets it apart from the company’s more rounded current EVs. The illuminated grille, which surrounds the iconic three-pointed star, particularly draws the eye.
The redesigned interior also stands out with premium materials. The front features three displays that span the dashboard: a digital gauge cluster, the infotainment system, and an optional passenger screen. A panoramic glass roof is also standard, providing increased headroom in the rear.
