Mercedes eVito: Longer Range, But No UK Sales
In 2020, the Mercedes eVito electric van struggled to reach 100 miles on a single charge. Now, the mid-sized panel van boasts a significant upgrade: a potential range of 298 miles. However, due to what Mercedes cites as a ‘lack of market demand,’ this enhanced version of the eVito will not be available in the UK.

The eVito, which received a mid-life refresh in 2023, now surpasses its rivals in terms of range. The Ford E-Transit Custom offers 204 miles, the Citroen e-Dispatch provides 231 miles, and the Volkswagen ID. Buzz Cargo has a maximum range of 276 miles. The boost comes from a new 90kWh battery, a considerable increase compared to the 60kWh battery that previously offered a range of 159 miles.

The new eVito variant will be offered with a choice of electric motors: a 114bhp option or a more powerful 201bhp motor mounted on the front axle. However, the upgrade to the 201bhp motor slightly reduces the range to 241 miles. Charging the 90kWh battery also benefits from a higher maximum recharge rate of up to 110kW, compared to the 60kWh model. Despite this, it takes longer to charge the bigger battery, with a 10-80% top-up taking approximately 40 minutes, while the 60kWh model takes 35 minutes.
Payload capacity varies. The standard ‘A2’ eVito offers a payload of 714kg, and the longer ‘A3’ version has a payload of 581kg. These figures are somewhat less than the original eVito’s 923kg capacity from 2020, and also less than the current 60kWh model, which provides up to 882kg.
Standard features of the eVito 90kWh include a 10.25-inch central touchscreen and a 5.5-inch color display in the instrument cluster, both running Mercedes’ MBUX infotainment software. It also includes keyless entry, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, and active lane-keep assist. In the UK, the 60kWh battery model is available in Pro and Select trim levels, with prices ranging from £48,530 to £51,915.
