Mercedes-Maybach SL 680: A New Pinnacle of Luxury in India
Mercedes-Benz India has introduced the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series, marking a significant expansion of its luxury vehicle offerings in the Indian market. This exclusive roadster is available at a starting price of Rs 4.2 crores. The brand has allocated only three units of this model for the current year, with customer consultations already underway and deliveries slated to commence in the first quarter of 2026.

Unveiled in 2024, the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 is hailed as the most dynamic Maybach to date. Mercedes emphasizes that this two-seater open-top vehicle blends the classic silhouette of the SL with the distinctive luxury associated with Mercedes-Maybach, setting a new standard in the realm of open-air luxury driving.
Design and Features
The Maybach SL 680 builds upon the foundation of the standard SL 63 Roadster. It enhances the base model’s sporty style with signature Maybach design elements to create a more stately appearance. The car features an illuminated, vertical-slat front grille with chrome accents and MAYBACH lettering. Additionally, the Obsidian Black bonnet is embellished with Maybach logos. Buyers can customize the car to have these logos embossed into the soft-top fabric roof, a unique personalization option.
Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Interior
At the sides, the car sports 21-inch forged wheels with 36 slender spokes. A refined chrome strip extends along the body between the wheels, accentuating the chrome detailing on the door handles and front fenders. The rear features a streamlined bumper with subtle chrome touches.
Inside, the SL 680 maintains the dashboard layout of the standard model but distinguishes itself with a dashboard and seats upholstered in white Nappa leather. It also features a satin silver finish on the AC vents. The Maybach SL 680 is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch central touchscreen infotainment system, powered by Mercedes’ MBUX multimedia system.
Powertrain and Performance
The car’s powertrain is the same as the SL 63, but it’s tuned to deliver enhanced performance. It is powered by a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine, which generates 585 horsepower and 800Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels. The SL 680 can accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in just 4.1 seconds.
The exhaust system has been specifically designed to minimize cabin noise. The suspension has also been optimized to increase ride comfort. This combination of features and performance capabilities ensures a luxurious and dynamic driving experience, cementing its place at the pinnacle of the Mercedes-Maybach lineup.
