MG M9 First Look Review: A Luxurious MPV with Abundant Space
MG is preparing to launch its new M9, a luxury Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) that will be sold through its premium sales channel, MG Select. This vehicle is designed to rival the Toyota Vellfire in the Indian market, potentially at a more accessible price point, according to initial reports.
The M9 immediately stands out due to its size, exceeding the Vellfire in length, with its overall dimensions measuring approximately 5.2 meters. The design incorporates several elements to enhance its presence, including generous use of chrome, sleek headlamps, and a large glass area to create an open and spacious feel.
What truly sets the M9 apart is its interior, especially considering its expected price range. The vehicle features three rows of seating, with the second row offering the most premium experience. The interior offers ample legroom, even for taller individuals. Passengers will appreciate power-sliding doors for easy access and comfortable seats with integrated massage functions and an Ottoman feature. Additional features include a touchscreen interface to control these functions, along with separate climate control, ventilation, and entertainment screens. Twin sunroofs are also included, and the dashboard presents a minimalist design with a large central screen.
Quality appears to be high, aligning with expectations for a premium vehicle. The M9 is expected to be equipped with a 90kWh battery pack, offering a range exceeding 400km. The manufacturer is positioning the M9 as an alternative to diesel-powered luxury vehicles, with a strong emphasis on its spaciousness and features.
