Motorcyclist Killed in Grant-Valkaria Crash
Grant-Valkaria, FL – A 56-year-old motorcyclist from Vero Beach died Tuesday morning in a crash in Grant-Valkaria, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The crash occurred around 6:25 a.m. on U.S. 1 near First Street. A 2001 Ford Ranger, towing a boat trailer, was traveling southbound when it made a left turn, and the northbound motorcycle collided with the trailer, FHP reported.
The motorcyclist, whose name has not been released, was taken to an emergency room in Sebastian, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 68-year-old man from Malabar, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and remained at the scene, according to FHP.
Motorists experienced delays in the area of U.S. 1 near First Street for several hours during the morning commute.
The FHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
