Motorcyclist Killed in Enfield Crash with Pickup Truck
ENFIELD — A local motorcyclist died Thursday night after a collision with a pickup truck on Town Farm Road, police said.
Jashua Martinez-Martinez, 32, of Enfield was pronounced dead at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass., after the crash, Officer Timothy Gerrish said.
The collision occurred around 9:10 p.m. on Town Farm Road, near Grassmere Country Club. The 78-year-old driver of the pickup truck was not injured and remained at the scene.
A regional team of crash investigators, Metro Traffic Services, is handling the investigation.
This incident comes as motorcycle fatalities continue to trend upward nationally. According to AAA Northeast, about 60 percent of motorcycle deaths occur between May and September.
The investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
