A motorcyclist in Irwindale, California, was incredibly fortunate to walk away with only minor injuries after a terrifying crash on the 210 Freeway. The incident involved the rider’s blue sports bike colliding with the rear of a pickup truck.
Footage of the event shows the motorcycle slamming into the back of the truck. Traffic ahead appears to have slowed, possibly leading to the collision. The impact was severe, causing the rider to be thrown into the truck bed. Fortunately, this peculiar outcome likely saved him from more serious harm.
The pickup driver, seemingly unaware of the impact, continued driving down the freeway with the motorcycle rider in the truck’s bed. According to ABC7, the driver eventually pulled over, and the motorcyclist was able to contact the California Highway Patrol.
The motorbike sustained significant damage in the crash, appearing completely destroyed. Debris from the bike was scattered across the freeway, with the front end extensively damaged. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but it’s possible the motorcyclist didn’t see the traffic slowing. The motorcycle was later removed from the freeway by local police.
