Multi-Vehicle Crash Closes SB 57 Freeway in Fullerton
A serious traffic collision occurred on the southbound 57 Freeway in Fullerton on May 28, 2025, at approximately 11:08 p.m. The incident involved multiple vehicles, including an SUV towing a pickup truck on a trailer, and resulted in two vehicles overturning.
The Fullerton Fire Department and California Highway Patrol (CHP) from the Santa Ana office responded to the scene, which was located just after Chapman Avenue. Upon arrival, they found the SUV and the pickup truck it was towing overturned. Three other vehicles were also involved in the collision.
Due to debris on the road, the CHP closed all lanes of the freeway except for one, significantly impacting traffic flow. Two individuals were transported to a local hospital by AMR with injuries that were not immediately specified.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the CHP. The incident highlights the potential dangers of towing vehicles on highways and the importance of road safety measures.
The handling agencies for this incident included the CHP’s Santa Ana office, with additional support from the Fullerton Fire Department. A Fullerton Battalion Chief was also present at the scene.
