Nashville, TN – Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred Monday night on Old Hickory Boulevard and are searching for a dark-colored Toyota Tacoma believed to be involved. A man riding an electric scooter was killed in the crash; authorities have not yet released his identity.
According to police, the victim attempted to cross Old Hickory Boulevard near the I-24 interchange around 7 p.m. when the truck struck him. The impact trapped the man and his scooter under the vehicle. Witnesses reported seeing sparks as the truck dragged the scooter for approximately 900 feet before it dislodged near Firestone Parkway. The driver subsequently fled the scene toward Murfreesboro Pike.
Investigators believe the man had recently left a Dollar General Store parking lot and had been riding along the shoulder of the road before entering the roadway.
