According to experts, upcoming car technology will soon integrate features that redefine our driving experience.
Autopay: Paying Without a Card
One of the significant developments is the integration of autopay systems into vehicles, similar to Apple Pay. Drivers can anticipate the ability to make purchases at drive-thrus and other locations automatically, without needing a credit card.
“You just simply drive through and you’re paid up,” said Ed Kim, president of Auto Pacific, an automotive market research firm.
Color-Changing Cars: A Futuristic Reality
Additionally, the possibility of color-changing vehicles is on the horizon. BMW has already demonstrated this technology, hinting at a future where car owners can modify their vehicle’s appearance with a command.
“There’s still a lot of work to be done as far as making it, getting the cost down, making it affordable, and making sure that it’s durable enough to survive in the real world,” Kim explained.
Self-Driving Advancements
Mercedes is launching a new self-driving car program this year. This system will be unique in allowing drivers to take their eyes off the road.
“You could read a book, you can play in your phone, you don’t have to be looking forward, for the car to drive itself autonomously,” Kim stated.
