According to Ed Kim, president of Auto Pacific, an automotive market research and consulting firm, “You just simply drive through and you’re paid up” with autopay technology, eliminating the need to pull out your phone or watch.
While color-changing cars have been teased by manufacturers like BMW in the past, there’s still work to be done to make them affordable and durable. Kim noted, “There’s still a lot of work to be done as far as making it, getting the cost down, making it affordable, and making sure that it’s durable enough to survive in the real world.”
Advancements in Self-Driving Technology
Mercedes is launching a new self-driving car program this year, allowing drivers to take their eyes off the road. “You could read a book, you can play on your phone, you don’t have to be looking forward, for the car to drive itself autonomously,” Kim explained. This development marks a significant step forward in autonomous driving technology.
