Kia has entered the electric people carrier market with the new PV5 Passenger, priced from £32,995. This represents a significant £25,000 saving compared to the Volkswagen ID.Buzz, a model similar in size and shape to the PV5.
Key Features and Specifications
The PV5 Passenger is based on Kia’s E-GMP.S electric platform, offering 51.5kWh and 71.2kWh battery options. The standard battery provides up to 179 miles of range, while the long-range version can achieve 249 miles on a single charge. Both versions can recharge from 10-80% capacity in under half an hour with a suitable charger.

Initially available as a five-seater, the PV5 Passenger boasts 1,320 litres of boot space, expandable to 2,315 litres with the second row folded. A seven-seater variant will follow later. The model features a 12.9-inch touchscreen navigation system with Android Automotive OS, a 7.5-inch driver’s display, and wireless smartphone connectivity for both Android and Apple devices.
Standard Equipment and Safety Features
Standard kit includes auto LED lights, rain-sensing wipers, a six-speaker stereo system, twin sliding side doors, part-synthetic leather trim, heated mirrors, front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, and LED cabin lighting. Safety features comprise adaptive cruise control, lane assist, forward collision assist, and over-the-air updates.

The PV5 Passenger will be sold through Kia’s new commercial vehicle centres in the UK, with around 50 franchises planned. The model comes with a seven-year/100,000-mile warranty, providing added peace of mind for buyers.
