NVIDIA’s Automotive Advancement: New Partnerships
Las Vegas, Jan. 06, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — NVIDIA announced a significant expansion of its automotive partnerships at CES. Toyota, Aurora, and Continental are joining the ranks of global mobility leaders that are utilizing NVIDIA’s accelerated computing and AI for their vehicle fleets. This move signifies a major step in the development and deployment of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous vehicles.
Toyota, the world’s largest automaker, will integrate NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin into its upcoming vehicle generations.

This will allow them to run the safety-certified NVIDIA DriveOS operating system, which provides functionally safe, advanced driving assistance capabilities. This is a huge development!
These partnerships underscore the growing adoption of NVIDIA’s DRIVE AGX platform and related technologies. The company is expected to reach approximately $5 billion in fiscal year 2026 in its automotive vertical business. “The autonomous vehicle revolution has arrived, and automotive will be one of the largest AI and robotics industries,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA. “NVIDIA is bringing two decades of automotive computing, safety expertise and its CUDA AV platform to transform the multitrillion dollar auto industry.”
Strategic Partnerships
Aurora and Continental have also forged a long-term strategic partnership with NVIDIA. The collaboration is focused on deploying driverless trucks at scale, utilizing the NVIDIA DRIVE platform. Continental plans to mass-produce the Aurora Driver, an SAE Level 4 autonomous driving system that integrates NVIDIA’s accelerated compute and DriveOS, by 2027.
Broader Industry Adoption
Other major players in the mobility sector are adopting NVIDIA DRIVE AGX for their upcoming ADAS and autonomous vehicle projects. These include BYD, JLR, Li Auto, Lucid, Mercedes-Benz, NIO, Nuro, Rivian, Volvo Cars, Waabi, Wayve, Xiaomi, ZEEKR, and Zoox. The widespread use of NVIDIA’s technology highlights its importance.
NVIDIA’s Computing Ecosystem
NVIDIA offers three core computing systems, along with the AI software necessary for the complete development of autonomous vehicles. This includes NVIDIA DRIVE AGX (in-vehicle computer), NVIDIA DGX (for fleet data processing and AI model training), and NVIDIA Omniverse and NVIDIA Cosmos running on NVIDIA OVX systems (for testing and validating self-driving systems via simulation).
Further details about NVIDIA’s automotive and safety milestones can be found by watching Huang’s opening keynote at CES.
