SILSBEE, Texas — A pickup truck veered off the road and overturned into a pond early Sunday morning in Hardin County, leaving one person with critical injuries and three others hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that the accident occurred around 2:25 a.m. on FM 92 near Old Kountze Road. A 2019 Ram 1500 pickup truck, traveling south, left the roadway to the left, struck a fence, and subsequently overturned, coming to rest in the pond.
The driver, a 19-year-old man from Silsbee, was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Two passengers, a 21-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man, were also taken to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A 22-year-old male passenger sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash and was also transported to the same hospital for treatment. A 12News crew observed one individual being transported by medical helicopter.
