A North Little Rock restaurant was the scene of a fatal crash Wednesday morning after a pickup truck drove into the building, according to a North Little Rock Police spokesperson.
The agency received a call at 9:15 a.m. regarding a vehicle colliding with the Mighty Crab restaurant at 2703 Lakewood Village Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals: an adult male in his 80s, identified as the driver, and an adult female in her 40s, who was in an orange Chevrolet truck. Both were transported to a local hospital. The male driver later died from his injuries.
Investigators have reason to believe the incident, which caused the truck to strike a corner of the building, was the result of a medical event. The female sustained significant, but non-life-threatening injuries, the spokesperson confirmed. No one was inside the restaurant at the time of the crash.
