Fatal Crash on Cardinal Drive Service Road Claims One Life
A devastating collision between an ATV and a pickup truck occurred on the Cardinal Drive service road at Erie Street in Beaumont on Friday, May 30, 2025. The incident resulted in one fatality and one severe injury, sparking an immediate investigation by Beaumont police.
According to Sgt. Tom Swope, the ATV driver apparently failed to yield at the stop sign and entered the intersection, where it was struck by the pickup truck. The impact threw both the driver and passenger of the ATV to the ground. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, with Justice of the Peace Ben Collins Sr. ordering an autopsy. The second victim was initially taken to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital with severe injuries before being airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston for further treatment. The pickup truck driver suffered minor injuries.
