LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A driver was killed in a crash in Pahrump on Tuesday after their vehicle crossed into another travel lane, according to Nevada State Police.
According to authorities, the driver of a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck was driving south on State Route 160, north of Rainbow Avenue. For reasons currently unknown, the Toyota crossed the left turn travel lane and the centerline, entering the northbound travel lanes.
A Dodge Ram pickup was traveling in the northbound lanes at the time. The driver attempted to evade the Toyota by steering right, but the vehicles collided. The front right of the Toyota struck the front of the Dodge. The Toyota was redirected left, entering the paved northbound outside shoulder and then the desert area.
The Dodge veered right, entering the paved northbound outside shoulder and desert area just east of the Toyota.
The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Nevada State Police.
