A serious collision occurred on Monday on Interstate 55 northbound in Copiah County, Mississippi, near the 61-mile marker. The accident involved an 18-wheeler and a pickup truck. According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the driver of the pickup truck was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown. Fortunately, the driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured in the crash. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the collision.
