Pedestrian Fatality in Sylmar Crash
A pedestrian was killed Monday night when struck by a pickup truck in the 12200 block of San Fernando Road in Sylmar, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The victim, who remains unidentified, died at the scene. Investigators are still determining whether the pedestrian was in the roadway or on the sidewalk at the time of the collision.
The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and attempted to assist the victim after the crash, so the incident is not being investigated as a hit-and-run. The vehicle sustained significant front-end damage.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are currently under investigation.
