At approximately 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to a reported theft in progress near the Chemong Road and Towerhill Road area in Peterborough. According to police reports, the suspect had left a store without paying for items and fled the scene in a pickup truck.
About an hour later, authorities located the vehicle in the Park Street and Wolfe Street area. A woman matching the description provided to police was taken into custody.
The 38-year-old Peterborough woman was subsequently charged with:
- Theft Under $5,000
- Failure to Comply with Probation
Court documents indicate the accused is presently bound by a probation order that includes a condition to keep the peace and maintain good behavior.
The accused is currently being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
